Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently called on Japanese businesses to consider Vietnam a strategic investment destination. Speaking at a dialogue in Hanoi, he emphasized the strong 52-year Vietnam-Japan relationship, which has been elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to fostering an open, transparent, and favorable investment environment for foreign businesses, particularly Japanese firms.

The Prime Minister encouraged Japanese companies to expand their presence in Vietnam by investing in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, supporting industries, high-tech agriculture, information technology, smart urban development, finance-banking, and innovation. He stressed that Vietnam is actively working to improve its business climate and regulatory framework to attract high-quality investments.

Beyond investment, Chinh urged Japanese enterprises to assist Vietnam in enhancing workforce productivity, sharing management expertise, and helping Vietnamese products reach international markets. By leveraging Japan’s technological expertise, Vietnam aims to strengthen its industrial capabilities and economic competitiveness.

Vietnam sees Japan as a crucial partner in its economic growth strategy. The country aims to deepen economic, trade, and investment cooperation with Japan to drive mutual development. As part of this effort, the Vietnamese government is working on policies that facilitate long-term Japanese investments and improve connectivity between the two economies.

Japan is already one of Vietnam’s largest investors and trade partners, contributing significantly to infrastructure and industrial development. By strengthening economic ties, both nations can benefit from greater trade opportunities, technological advancements, and sustainable development.

This appeal aligns with Vietnam’s broader vision to integrate more deeply into the global economy. The country hopes to attract more high-tech investments and leverage Japan’s resources to foster innovation and long-term economic prosperity.
