On the Nho Quan – Thuong Tin 500kV transmission line, one of the key power transmission routes connecting Central and Northern Vietnam, transmission units have proactively addressed defects before they could develop into major incidents.
After more than 20 years of operation, several insulator positions on circuits 581 and 582 of the Nho Quan – Thuong Tin line showed signs of deterioration, potentially affecting the reliability and safety of the transmission system. In response, Ninh Binh Transmission Power Company proposed replacing insulators at 84 locations.
The preparation was completed within 11 days, including material transportation, outage planning, and the arrangement of personnel and equipment. From September 22 to 25, 2026, 312 employees from 9 transmission units under PTC1 worked together to carry out the replacement.
During the work, technical and safety requirements were strictly controlled. Potential risks, including crossing transmission lines, induced voltage, thunderstorms, and difficult terrain, were carefully assessed and incorporated into the safety plan.
At 5:10 p.m. on September 25, 2026, all 84 insulator locations had been successfully replaced as scheduled, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
The project not only replaced deteriorated equipment but, more importantly, proactively eliminated 84 potential risk points, contributing to the safe, reliable, and stable operation of this critical 500kV transmission line connecting Central and Northern Vietnam.
