Doctranslate.io, a Vietnamese startup founded by Dr. Tran Vu Anh, has developed an AI translation platform that surpasses “giants” such as Google Translate and ChatGPT. After many years of living and working abroad, Dr. Vu Anh realized that language is a major barrier in accessing knowledge for Vietnamese people. Although current translation tools such as Google Translate or ChatGPT have reached a high level of communication and conversation, they still cannot meet some practical needs, especially when translating long scientific documents with complex formats such as charts, images and data tables.
To solve this problem, Doctranslate.io allows users to import text files in many different formats, including charts and images. The platform’s AI not only translates paragraphs but also translates the content in images, while preserving the original format, saving users editing time and ensuring high accuracy. In addition, Doctranslate.io also supports exporting translated files to popular formats such as PowerPoint, facilitating presentations or detailed editing.
In research published at the IEEE-RIVF and IEEE conferences, Doctranslate.io’s ALMA-Gemma-7B-IT-ST model achieved outstanding scores in the translation test. Specifically, Doctranslate.io’s AI scored 56.21 points in English-Vietnamese translation and 57.32 points in Vietnamese-English translation, compared to Google Translate’s 39.86 and 35.76 points, or GPT-3.5-Turbo’s 39.3 and 34.1 points. This success is attributed to the ability to deeply understand the Vietnamese language, with many characteristics such as context, rich personal pronouns and different nuances of expression.
Currently, Doctranslate.io has more than 200,000 active users every month and has developed flexible integration solutions such as API and cloud version, suitable for many business systems that are undergoing digital transformation. The platform also offers a free trial, allowing users to experience translating text, images, videos and audio before deciding to use it long-term. In the future, Doctranslate.io plans to expand its market to Southeast Asia and the world, with the desire to bring knowledge closer to everyone and contribute to raising the level of Vietnamese technology on the world map.
