Double top ties will embrace the wires on the top groove of insulators. In the condition of unbalance, the power of keeping wires … even when the wires are malfunction. Double top ties are designed to cut down on the load before occurring strong damage to the components of poles.

Preformed wire ties conductors on insulating porcelain have superior load capacity. Under unbalanced load conditions, the maximum rope holding force over an overpass is usually strong enough even if the conductor is damaged. Porcelain tie profiles are designed to reduce the load before serious damage occurs in the structural components of the column.

Metal porcelain head tie profile wire (porcelain head tie armor) is used to tie bare conductors or wrapped conductors to grooves on the top of the insulated porcelain. For bare conductors, it is recommended to use a profile wire to tie the ceramic end with a pad. The pad is elastic to enclose the conductor, eliminating abrasion at the contact between the conductor and the insulating ceramic surface. For wrapped conductors, the use of pad is not required.
